UEFA is a representative democracy, comprised of 53 national football associations, and is itself recognised by FIFA as one of six continental federations. UEFA’s core mission is to create the right conditions for the game in Europe to prosper and develop. Its vision of success is "A united European football family working together to improve enjoyment of the game". The UEFA Brussels office works day-to-day with the European Union institutions: the European Commission, European Parliament and Member States, building close working relationships with the EU in order to represent and safeguard the interests of UEFA and European football in general.
